Does our household own the worst upright vacuum cleaner?

Question:I refer to the ELECTROLUX VITESSE.

Cleaning is a nightmare, it only needs to be about a quarter full and it cuts out. Twenty minutes later it may decide to start again. EFFICIENT? I Don't think so.And as for belts breaking.GGGGGRRRRRRR.

Yes, Electrolux is bad I once owned that vacuum, I now own a really very nice efficient and least expensive Panasonic vacuum cleaner, it is very light weight and maneuvers around corners and under furniture very easily, have had it over five years now and still works great

no
Well I thought my Dyson was a load of crap but not quite so bad as yours. My Dyson only picks things up after scooting over the offending item 2or3 times. It's bobbins!
I cleaned houses for a living for 25 years, and the best vac I found is a Sears cannister
I've heard that those are good vacuums.. You may need to have yours serviced... Is it still under warranty? I would call the company and see what they can do.. I have a Hoovy Savvy and I love it.. However, I did buy the extended service warranty for 3 extra yrs. and it's been great.. I've had the unit cleaned/checked and some minor problems taken care of... The vacuum itself cost about $200 and with the warranty it was $100 for the extra coverage, which is still better than a dyson... Previously, I was going through a vacuum a year and I didn't even have carpet... I had hardwood floors and a dog...!
probably, Woolworth are selling VAX for half price at the mo and they clean carpets too.
DYSON that's the worst.
Mine broke after VERY little use - and they don't want to know. Its cheap crap at a high price.
VAX IS BEST - had mine nearly 30 years - its strong and nothing has ever broken.
(New motor last year - that's all)
I have always had hoovers I like them the best. I like the ones with the bags.
Get rid! Sounds dangerous. They cost more to fix these days.I've used many types over the years, as a pro housekeeper . Each one had it's problems.Manufacturers are making them too cheap and nasty these days. What used to be good makes years ago does not mean to say they are good now. Dyson in my opinion has to be the worse. They break all the time.
So really it's a case of you pays your money and takes your choice.
I am using a cheap Hitachi at the mo. It's been going for about 7 years no probs My friend got a Miele recently, expensive, she took it back, got a replacement had to take that back!
No straight answer on this one ,sorry.
Get a Consumer Reports book on the best and worst vacuums, that is what I did, and I love the new one I purchased, it picks up everything, including pet hair, small and large particles. Has three chambers for the small particles, and larger ones, and also the pet hair. It is a Eureka. I got this information from Consumer Reports, before buying one. They tell which ones are the best buy and the best to buy.I once owned a Electrolux, didn't like it at all. Gave it away. The most expensive ones are not always the best to buy.
You should try a dyson that is what i have they ain't too bad!
