If you ever wash red clothes w/ white, does red get on white while its washing or drying?
Question:
Answers:
Yes more then likely your whites will turn pink. Don't take the chance.
Mainly during the wash, but the dye can transfer in both the washer and the dryer.
Make sure that you read the label...and if you are wash your clothes with cold water. not all red clothes will colored your white clothes. it all depends.
Yes wash and dry separate
yes it does
If you wash red clothes with white close, the red bleeds onto the white clothes while they are washing.
Yes, your white clothes will get pink after washing process is finished.
You should wash white clothes separately.
it typically occurs when it is in the washing process but occassionally occurs in the drying process. To be on the safe side don't wash or dry them together at all
Yeah! my gf threw a red tee shirt in with all my, underware, now they are all pink. now I have to replace 10 pair of underware.
Always wash in cold water. If you soak ANY bright colored fabric in vinegar when it is new it sets the dye. (like in easter egg coloring years ago!). Helps keep corors brighter longer and is cheap. However, I still would keep ANY bright colors separate from whites. Why risk it?
Both
Yeah, it does happen and when it does it makes me so mad! I typically wash anything red separately or with other red clothes. Usually the transfer of color happens in the wash, but I suppose it could happen in the dryer while the clothes are still damp.
Once the red transfers onto white clothing it is next to impossible to get out, even with bleach. There is a commercial product made by Rit that is supposed to remove color, but I have never had much success with it.
What I hate the most is washing a shirt that has some red on it and the red bleeds onto the other lighter colors of the shirt. Arrrggghhh!
Both. Clothes in the dryer start out wet, so the colors can bleed even there.
