How to disinfect bath tub?

Question:We are going to move to a new house and just in case the previous owners have fungi in their feet, I would like to really disinfect and clean the bath tubs.
Any products you recommend? Thanks!

I bought a new house last year and let me tell ya - nasty wasn't the word! It had a lot of renovations done to it and the workers were not very clean!

Bathrooms - replace the toilet seats! No doubt! Ours were downright hideous. While you have them off, give that potty a good scrubbing. You can get e-coli from poopy!! Put on some heavy duty rubber gloves while you disinfect. I used a cleaner with bleach for the entire outside surface (Clorox bathroom cleaner). I found these neat bleach tabs at the Dollar General. (here they are online: http://www.shophometrends.com/product.as... these things are great, no spills!) I just popped one in the tank and one in the bowl and let them work while I tackled the sink.

The sink! Iron and rust stains - yuck. This CLR stuff is fabulous: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j... I used it on the faucets, too and it got rid of the white salty looking junk. I strongly suggest you take your faucet apart and replace the washer and the screen. There was a weird black junk in ours, like slimy moldy stuff. Check the faucet in the kitchen, too.

The tub. I thought our tub was almond colored. It isn't. Under the funk, it is white. I got a cheap brush (the kind used to clean car wheels) at the $1 store. I also got a pair of goggles (I wear contacts). Spray down your tub with some strong cleaner, I used Simple Green Foam (http://consumer.simplegreen.com/cons_pro... Let it sit while you go scrub out your potty. The bleach tabs should have had plenty of time to work. If it's still looking shady, spray it down with the Green Foam. Now, scrub down your tub. The Green stuff is pretty heavy duty, but you may still need some Ajax to get up the stubborn stuff. The CLR is great for removing those ugly rings the previous owners left with their shaving cream cans. After you have scrubbed and the tub is clean, give it a good dousing of bleach. Mix 1 gallon of water + 1 cup of bleach and just wipe it down. You don't even have to rinse.

If you don't replace the shower head, at least make sure it isn't clogged up. Unscrew it and let it soak in a little bowl of CLR for an hour or so. Or you can put some CLR in a plastic bag and tie it over the shower head with a rubber band. Rinse it off well or the CLR will eat the gaskets (and maybe even the plastic).

Now, put those new toilet seats on and enjoy your new (clean) home!

i gguess put disinfectant on a cloth and clean it..
Scrub well with bleach - be careful not to get any in your eyes - let it sit for a while, then rinse. There are other products that would work too, but bleach is cheap and a tried and true method.
Fill bath tub with hot water, squirt of dishwashing soap and 2 cups of bleach. Let stand about an hour, let drain. Scour tub with soft scrub, rinse. Shine with window cleaner. I'd buy new toilet seats and replace those first thing, too.
Good old fashioned bleach I would think would do.just open all the windows and watch out for your pets in the house due to the strong odor!
u go to the supermarket and buy a bath desinfectant killing fungi and bacteria, its a spray and smells very bad because it contains sodiumhypochlorite, the one im using is Bref but i live in germany, u will find the same thing from a different brand, just ask in the shop
bleach.

You can simply buy something like tilex, or make it, just bleach and water.
Clorox® Clean-Up Cleaner with Bleach
I'd not use bleach as you may damage the bathtub. I'd use Lysol.
Clean it and then fill it with water and add bleach - doesn't take as much bleach as you would think! Kitchen counters - wipe with a bleach and water solution. In a cooking class I took, the instructor had a bowl of water with a teaspoon of bleach - to disinfect knives as we used them.
This is a serious question...use a disinfectant...umm plain ol' bleach and water will be just fine
bleach.. always use bleach to disinfect.. a safe one is clorox cleanup with bleach.. works great
I would just use bleach and water... You could also use a product I got at Home Depto called Odor control by Zep It cleans and disinfects. It kills E.Coli so it should kill fungi. I bought this to take dog odors out if carpets and cars. They also have a grem and fungal cleaner if you want to make sure.
You can also use a probuct called A33 or Odor Ban with kills bactira and fungas..
disinfecting spray and lots of bleach
when we moved into our house, i scrubbed the tub thoroughly with a disinfectant, and then filled it with a whole bottle of smell good clorox bleach and hot hot water, and let it soak for the day.. i think that worked well, i feel comfortable in it and i hate unkown people's germs, GROSS.
I use soft scrub with bleach and because i would want to be cautious also, i would fill the tub with hot water and put bleach in the tub a let it soak for awhile. I do this with my toilets every week. Just makes me feel better about how clean they are.
If it is a tub, fill it with hot water and bleach. Let sit for 30 minutes, drain and clean.

For shower stalls or anything that won't hold water, get Soft Scrub with bleach. Clean it first. Rinse. Then make a paste with the SSw/bleach and let sit for 10 minutes. Rinse w/ very hot water.
