What is the best cleaning solution to use on a dirty carpet.?

Question:Some people suggest using vinegar or cholrine. Is their anything else I can use?

FYI: I have Bissel cleaning machine.

just use the typical carpet cleaning solution you can usually buy at a big chain food store or at some place like Lowes or Home Depot.

After the carpet drys, get a role of this sticky plastic that looks like Saran wrap. It is sold at Lowes and Home Depot too.

It sticks to the carpet while you unrole it and stick it to the carpet for heavy traffic areas.
It unpeels real easy and leaves no residue. You cannot believe the difference it will make on house cleaning and less time cleaning the carpets in heavy areas. Good luck.

Have you tried oxygen cleaner? I use it to spot clean.I don't know about using it in a Bissel.
