Should I take the chance of taking my down comforter to the laundry mat?
Question:I have two down comforters. One says I can take it to a cleaners or wash it in cold water. The one I washed myself came out just fine and eventually became fluffy again. The other says "dry clean only." I have not washed that one yet. Do I take the chance of washing it myself? I really don't want to pay $25 just to get it cleaned. Thanks!

Down itself can be washed and dried (with a couple of tennis balls to help fluff it up). The difference would be the comforter fabric, whether that is washable or dry clean only. I have a microfiber down comforter that says "dry clean" but the microfiber is polyester which is washable. I washed and dried it and it turned out fine. If unsure of the fabric I would recommend dry cleaning. .
