So Gross! How to get rid of cockroaches?

Question:Help! Me and my boyfriend just moved into a new apartment complex, and recently saw a cockroach. I moved from my parent's and he moved from a previous apartment, neither of which have ever had problems with roaches so I know we didn't move them in ourselves. We called the property manager and they claimed they sent someone to spray. We also bought spray ourselves and sprayed in the room cockroach was seen. Last night there was another one! How do I get rid of them for good? I also heard they can get all over everything and you should bag up all your stuff and wash it in the laundrymat before moving into a new place. We are here for a year, and I am a Neat FREAK! I clean the apartment everyday, and keep my food and everything in closed containers.

Answers:
Buy a container of boric acid at any hardware store. Sprinkle the white powder around the edge of the room at the floor, in any crevices and cracks. Sprinkle around the openings under sinks and window sills. Bug spray is useless. Boric acid is harmless to people and deadly to many bugs.

Buy a bunch of Combat Roach Baits and put them anywhere there is something for them to eat, come in, or where you see them. They will do the job.
hey babygirl i would hate to be in the same boat as u. i cant stand them either!! i know this sounds weird but they dont only eat food..they can live off a FINGERPRINT for a month. so keep everything u touch dusted, wiped off, and try to keep pinsole around i heard thats good..after dinner thats what i wash my cabinets with. ive never seen one in my house.
If you live in an apartment they are there to stay. The best you can do is keep them in control. Don't give them any reason to wonder into your unit. Keep things clean! They will migrate form unit to unit and there numbers will grow if there is food. Just like anything else in nature. Good Luck
Boric acid works well. Just place it where pets can't get into it.
Buy some boric acid, but instead of sprinkling the powder around, which can be messy and get spread out, make this instead: Use 1 part boric acid powder and 1 part flour, and enough water to make a pretty solid dough. Roll the dough into little balls and place at the back of your cabinets, behind your fridge, along baseboards under cabinets, etc. If you have pets, make sure they are out of reach. The roaches will eat from the balls (cause of the flour) and the boric acid will kill them. This is tried and true, it works! Also, if you happen to keep any type of paper around your house like saving paper groc. bags, STOP! Roaches can also live off paper and cardboard.
