Have you tried soaking them in white cooking vinegar for about two hours or even overnight?
I would use some febreeze in the wash or just some oxi clean to put in the water to neutralize. Mr. Clean is good too or **** & span liquid.

if all fails, take to the cleaners.
Rewash with a cup of baking soda, or with a 1/4 cup of Pine Sol. Use warm water if possible, and dry immediately.
If they are white use bleach if they are colored use color safe bleach
Put a cup of vineager in the washer with detergent, let it fill, leave the lid open to let the clothes soak for about an hour, then close the lid and wash as normal, only add an extra rinse cycle to get ris of the vineager smell. IF it persists, wash again and add a cup of baking soda with your detergent.
Rewash again using pine sol along with laundry detergent. If the pine sol doesn't get the odor out try vinegar or baking soda.
