If I paint a shirt (cotton) with acrylic paint, is it still machine washable?

Question:I want to customise this shirt, and I've bought fabric paint and acrylic paint. I don't particulary want to use the fabric paint because it's the type that dries puffy. So if I paint the shirt with acrylic paint; is it still machine washable?

Answers:
It should be fine.

Acrylic paint will stain (so, it should stay on your clothes with washing).

The only thing is that it's a bit stiff. You should buy fabric medium at the craft store and mix it with your acrylic paint. It's sold in small bottles right next to the paint (and it's cheap, too). You just mix a little into the paint. It makes the paint more flexible and durable.

Good luck and have fun!

idk
I've painted a few shirts with acrylic paint, and they've lasted years. I just used the regular stuff you buy at the craft store, and I wash and dry like normal. I made a fathers day shirt for my husband 3 years ago, and it still looks like new! Have fun!
