What gets you motivated to clean?

try to think about your house looking really good and you relaxing afterward and you will feel you accomplished allot today.
Turn on the music honey and before you know it you are dancing with the vaccum! LOL It does it everytime for me.
I take spurts of cleaning but find it hard to be consistent with the cleaning, but if someone is coming over I can get a lot done-lol-
Whoever cleans it gets the first bath...
I always think about the bacteria and dust bunnies that are piling up in the house. And how I'm breathing that air.
Pick one place/area (small) to work on getting it cleaned. Do it. Then, pick another place, etc. One thing that personally helps me is flylady.net--the rooms are zones, with 15 min. per day "tasks" to do. It's pretty easy. Hope it helps you. Take care.

If I'm having people stay over (especially my parents!) then I will start cleaning. Also, I've found that if I hire someone to help me clean, I enjoy the company and get a lot done. Good luck!
i turn on some good tunes really loud and start in a room that isnt so bad to clean like the bathroom. i do the job i like the most first to get me in the mood to clean and then go on from there.
Music always motivates me. But, I give my house the best cleaning after Ive been to one of my friends house. She isn't a very good housekeeper( to put it mildly). Its pretty bad and I always come home and clean up a storm.
Knowing that it will make you feel good when I'm done.
When it gets cold outside, then I stay inside and clean!
