Do you think if I post signs around the house...?

Question:such as...

"rinse out the sink after you shave" in the bathroom,

"put your shoes by the bed when you come in" near the front door,

"put your clothes in the hamper" all over the house,

will my hubby will start picking up after himself? :P

He works and I stay at home for now because I'm 7 months pregnant; I do almost all the housework and it's getting harder for me to get around and keep things clean, especially when I have to run around all day and pick up things he throws wherever he wants.

Plus our house is not huge and I'm worried about tripping and falling and hurting the baby. Will this work to remind him or what do you suggest?

Answers:
when i was pregnant i just told my husband that he needed to help out more around the house because it was hard for me to do stuff.and if he didn't do it.when i would find whatever it is say his clothes aren't in the hamper...I would yell to him from the bedroom...'please come and put your clothes in the hamper' or yell "please come and rinse the shavings from the sink" and after about a week of him having to get up from what he was doing and me yelling from other rooms...he got really good at doing things without being reminded...he continues to do these things on his own to this day...

As far as the signs...I wouldn't want to do that because then you would have to look at these stupid signs all over your house.and you would probably read them and he would probably "look past them" anyway. Good luck to you.

That may help. Also, try flylady.net for helpful hints. It does help. Take care.
it should help. if it doesn't, you need to sit him down and talk to him about it and how it's harder because you're pregnant
I suggest you call his mama... She should be more than willing to slap him upside the head!
my mother does that. and it actually works because like when there is a bug in the bathroom she will put up a sign and then im like 'i guess i shouldnt go in there' so yes. it will work!

i also hate it when people dont rinse the sink after shaving. like i want to see that when im brushing my teeth!
yeah i would do that.
and if nothing happens just tell him that you know he is always working but you need help since your pregnant. it only takes an extra minute to put your clothes in the hamper instead of on the floor!

hope it works :)
Start taking and hiding his favorite things, give them back after he completes a chore.
However you must containtly chage the favorite things and he must need or want them the day you want something done.
PS the remote and mouse for the computer are great anytime!
I feel for you! i live with 2 men and it seems i am picking up after them constantly. i posted a chore list on the bar fridge (which i also empited and his the booze in it) and for every chore done on the list they would get a beer back in the fridge. you should talk to him and tell him that you are getting worried that you might trip and fall and hurt yourself if he leaves his stuff around the house.
you are too funny! no it won't help! i have been married 14 years and he still can't figure it out. just call his mommy and tell her she needs to come over to help clean up after her little boy because it is getting to be too much for you! she might wanna move in for awhile after the baby is born to help with that too. it does get better. being pregnant is not always fun. i went through all that and now have 3 kids and you learn how to do things faster and easier and you learn all the tricks to make your life easier through trial and error. once the baby is born your man will get better about helping if he is a true man. he will go out of his way for you and your little one. take advantage of that time when you can. most guys when they see their wife go through labor and delivery suddenly "GET IT" and really want to help. don't worry so much about the house right now. just get the rest you need and when he does not have any clean underwear for his *** or a clean plate to eat supper with he will help. good luck with the baby. i pray it will be easy for you! congrats!!
Yes, I think the signs will work!
You probably won't need them up for long, once he gets in the habit.
I know it's hard being the one at home.
