How do I get (black) permanent marker off a white painted dresser?
Question:My 2year old little girl got a hold of a black sharpie and colored her white painted dresser.
Answers:
DO NOT try nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. This will take the paint off, I guarantee it! Try the Mr Clean magic erasers. They really do work!
Magic erasers are a life saver. They take off anything, including permanent marker, I have three boys, trust me, lol. Good luck
Ask.com. I found out how to make water marks from furniture back to its original state.
OFF bug repellent with DEET...nothing works better.
try nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol
in my experience= primer and white paint. my daughter did the same thing to her white bedroom furniture when she was three.
I know this is nuts, but I have kids too.
HAIRSPRAY..it should work.
Nail polish remover works, but since it is painted, I might not try that if I were you.
Get one of those Mr Clean MAGIC ERASERS. Those things work miracles, unsure of the cleaners it contains, but it removes most anything. Good luck!
Be careful if you try nail polish remover on painted surfaces, as it will remove the paint.
Try Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser
Take a dry erase marker and draw a line over top of the mark that is already there. Take a towel and wipe it off. Both marks will wipe away.
definitely hairspray! also works for ink and blood...
rubbing achale. or hairspray. i know hairspray for pen marks you keep spraying it into the grove and the pen marks rise to the surface. my daughter used a sharpie on pine furniture and she used rubbing alcahole on it to get it off.
Clorox/Bleach
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will get it off, but you have to use a light hand as it will also take off the paint if you scrub it. In addition, it will dull the surface if it is glossy.
I used it on my dining table after my daughter & friends decorated pillowcases with sharpies. I have also used it on tile floors & walls in the house. It is a LIFESAVER when used correctly!!
I would try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. They work miracles.
