How to get gum out of a sweatshirt?

Question:My son brought home this hoodie that some kid gave him because it had dried gum on the back and evidently this kid's mom probably couldn't get it out either. It's not a big blob of gum, but rather where gum once was on there, and probably has gone through the wash several times with it stuck on. We've tried ice and fingernail polish remover. Any other ideas?

Answers:
try Goo-Gone it works wonders with any kind of stain. I got a gum spot out of my skirt, no remains stayed. Good Luck

Wet the shirt and throw it in the freezer overnight. Then peel the gum off in the morning.

There is this cold spray in a can that freezes the gum instantly. I forgot the name but you can buy it at the hardware store or janitor supply
It's marked for life or you could try and die it another colour or ya may also try and replace the Ice method with heat and then a remover ?

good luck!
ZIPPO lighter fluid. Squirt some onto a rag. Scrub it into the gum. It will dissolve completely. There will be none on the hoodie or the rag. It magically disappears. lol Let it air out. It also works on floors, wood, upholstery and carpet. It will do the same thing for candle wax. I have been using it for this for 30 years, and have not found anything that it has hurt. I keep a can in my cabinet, even though we have no lighters that use it.
