pour white wine over the stain, blot with kitchen roll. red wine stains are removed by pouring white wine over them. Once the stain has been removed , rinse with cold water and a sponge. Lay a towel with a heavy object on top. this will help soak up any remaining water from the underside of your carpet. Leave over night like this, then dry with natural air. I would suggest you have this area of carpet steam cleaned at a later date . As sooner or later the water mark always reaches the surface
Use Vodka.
Brawny carpet cleaner is the best and it is not expensive. Just spray, wiat a minute and rub away the stain.
Hey Morey - i have very lite beige carpet and I spilled RED Wine (Merlot) (a whole glass) on it...Panic! Yes I Did...but here is what I did and it worked beautifully.
I first got papertowels and soaked up as much as i could, then i took OXI CLEAN and put a couple of scoops on it and rubbed it into the area.let it set for a few minutes and cleaned it up with a damp cloth...when it dried...no stain and i vacuumed...that was a month ago and it still looks great today.
Since your stain has obviously dried by now.try spraying it with water generously (to wet it again) and act as if it were a new stain and follow my directions above.
I use OXI CLEAN for just about everything...it takes out old and new stains.
