Who decided on the standard size for towels in the uk and why.?
Question:towels are not the same size in some other countries so why are they the size they are in the uk. What factors decided the sizing for hand towels, bath towels etc.

I have never bought a towel yet in UK that are the same
size,all my bath ones differ in size, same as face and
kitchen towels.
They will probably start to get bigger now that women are getting fatter. My wife would need a family tent for 4 to dry her a*rse!
I suppose its the standard human body type that decided this rare and wonderful sizing lark. Personally I buy the towelling by the metre and make the extra large cuddly ones so that I am always covered and warm!
