How do you transform a fat, lazy, pack rat~ hoarder into a fairly clean room mate?
Question:Treats me like the cleaning lady, but wont let me REALLY CLEAN this dump UP, or throw anything away. sulks. starts but I finish. Leaves crap everywhere. Inspects EVERYTHING that I do accomplish with displeasure. makes living here pure hell. Has multiple sets of somethings, some in boxes never opened, tags still on 20 yr old pants, etc.WILL NOT PART WITH IT . there is physically no room for my personal belongings here, have been here a year, still waiting to unpack. CANT unpack, no room to unpack IN. STILL! What can I do!
Answers:
You can't change people, that's how they are and it obviously doesn't bother your roomate that they are a hoarder. I have a friend who keeps everything and you can't even find the couch it's so bad but it doesn't bother her...I think it's actually a mental condition to be a hoarder, try to explain to your roomate how much it bothers you and see if that helps...if not maybe get a new roomate or move. Good luck
find a new room mate!!!
Leave.
1. Pack everything of yours you can and move to storage.
2. Pack your personals and yourself and move in with a friend or family member until you get your own place.
I bet it irritates him if YOU leave something lying around, doesn't it?
In this order if the prior doesn't work:
1. Communicate (this is very, very important...have you attempted this?)
2. Make propositions
3. Make bribes or incentives for cleaning
4. Leave
u live with my husband 2? lol. move n get happy
Well since this roomie is very set in their own ways, and does still need someone to watch over them, put your foot down. Simply tell them that if they don't want you there you can always leave. :)
Kicker her out and get a new room mate.
