Need ideas on how to organize..?
Question:Im a single mom and live at home, so i share my bedroom with my 5m old son. And my room looks like a tornado hit it lol.. Any ideas on how i could organize it so that it doesnt look like a disaster? Ive already gotten rid of so much of my stuff..And it still looks horrible, it makes me a lil sad.

Well you are off to a good start by decluttering. The best way to keep any space organized is to eliminate clutter, so keep going with that.
It is also very good advice to take advantage of unused storage space like under the bed and under the crib are great for storage, espcially if you use plastic storage containers on wheels so you can easily pull them out when needed.
Also, think vertically when it comes to storage. Can you add shelves above the hanging rod in your closet? Even if the shelves would be too high for you to reach, they could be used to store seasonal items that you do not need to get to every day.
Can you add hanging shelves to the walls to add storage? If so, you could even place a pretty basket on a shelf to store socks or undergarments which would free up a dresser drawer or two.
Once you get the space cleaned and organized, be sure to make yourself a chore chart. By doing one or two small things each and every day you can be sure to keep your space clean and organized without a lot of effort.
Get good at using unusable space. Buy a hanging shoe organizer to put on the inside of your closet door. Buy plastic totes which will fit under your bed for clothes you don't wear as often. Be sure to put your clothes away in your dresser/closet as often as you can. You can put one shirt and one pair of pants on the same hanger to save closet space. You can also buy a multi-level plastic box for your jewelry. Get a toy net like this one http://www.leapsandbounds.com/catalog/pr... to hang his toys or clothing. Hope that helps!
First, I would take a day and go through everything in your place.
Ask yourself these 3 questions about every item.
1. Have I used (or worn) it in the past 6 months?
2. Is it irreplaceable?
3. Does it make me money?
If the answer is "No" to all three then get it out of there (either e-bay it or donate it).
I would then put lots of shelves up with decorative baskets and make sure everything has a home. Take 15 or 20 minutes a day to put stuff away and you should be go.
I do know this is an "Easier said then done" kind of thing. Good luck to you and your baby! Sounds like he has a nice mommy!
Well, let's see, it is not the baby messing up the room, but, the room could be messed up because of the baby. The best way to stay organized is start with a clean room. Everything needs to be put up. Even if that means lining it up along the wall. Then have one place for dirty clothes, have one place for trash. Now the don'ts! Don't leave the room without making the bed, ( an unmade bed is depressing, not inviting). Don't leave dirty clothes in the room for more than one day, ( they belong in the laundry). Don't eat in your room. Don't leave the babies things (empty bottles, etc.) lying in the crib. Straighten up every day! At first, it will be a bore, then you will do it without noticing, until someone comes into the room and exclaims " my this looks nice"! Good Luck!
get rid of more stuff the more things you have the more your room will look a mess at my house i only have the things i REALLY need i know its hard to get rid of somethings but if you want to be organized well you got to do it. ONLY keep the things that you use more than 3 times a month the other stuff you want to keep for when you have your own house throw away or lock it up in the garage youll have less clump.
if possible get yourself a closet organiser and under the bed storage.(these fit under cribs as well for extra clothes and stuff) then get your clothes organised, buy a few shelves and totes to store stuff.
is it possible to store things in the basement or a shed or carport that you arent using at the moment? if not and you have a lot of stuff rent a storage unit and store everything in totes.
