Recommendation for a good vaccum?
Question:I have two chihuahuas and a cat and have kept up with hair no problem. Now I have adopted a larger older dog and a lot of hair. My vaccum is doing a good job, but need something with more suction. I would like some recommendations on a real good vaccum for pet hair. Thanks

I have a saint bernard so I know your problem. Dyson makes the best vaccum cleaner for that so I've heard. Before you go do that try arm and hammers pet hair release carpet freshener. Its the shake stuff leave it on for half an hour and it pulls up the hair. I can't afford a Dyson although I want one but with the arm and hammer and my cheapo $50 walmart wonder it does an excellent job. The reason why your vaccum isn't picking up the hair is because of the static. You could also try using the spray static guard letting it dry and then vaccuming. Hope this helps.
The motor runs a suction pump and turns the brushes, so the more amps, the better the cleaning action. Buy the cheapest one with the highest amp rating.
Pet hair builds up a static charge. Once it is free in the air it will stick on fabric and walls and often caries pet dander and other allergens. Get a vacuum that has a hepa filter, an attachment that allows you to vacuum under low furniture, on walls and on the cloth furniture as well. You will want one that is light since you will be using it a lot. Electrolux Icon Ultra.
