What is that in the bottom of my tub? An how do I get rid of it?

Question:I've just spent 30 minutes scrubbing my tub with steel wool (I know thats not the best thing to do) but there is still a greyish almost rubbery matter at the bottom that won't come up. Is this lime or what

Answers:
Sounds like it's scratched, Try Mr. Clean Magic eraser. It will do wonders, it cleaned mine sparkling. I had tried comet and even a Brillo pad ,nothing would bring it off,but the Mr. Clean Magic eraser.=)

You've probably damaged the tub by scrubbing it with the steel wool, and you're seeing the damaged surface!
If that's not damage to the tub your talking about, try soft scrub w/ bleach.
SCRUBBING BUBBLES ,TRY IT, WORKS GREAT,
AND STEP AWAY FRO M THE WIRE WOOL LOL
The Works tub and tile plus you wont have to scrub so much next time.
have you tried "the works" if its the same thing that im thinking about it might be lime build up (this is what i had until i tried this) and if so that will work instead of the steel wool try an sos pad along with the works let this sit for at least 10 mins but dont forget it it also will work in the toliet and sinks. you can get this at walmart its only about 2.00 and it really works
