How do I stop a black shirt from bleeding on my skin?
Question:I have washed it many times in cold water. I really like the shirt, so I don't want to toss it. But it turns my skin grey. Any suggestions?
Answers:

Try adding a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. You can also wear another shirt underneath it to keep it away from your skin.
Try washing it in warm water at least once. It might fade a little but that's better than it coming off on your skin.
Add starch to the final rinse - it may help to fix the colour and will improve the look of the fabric once ironed. (Iron it whilst it is slightly damp for best results)
Try soaking it in cold salt water. Be sure the salt is dissolved. I don't know how much to tell you, just dump some in. It may help to dissolve the salt in a couple of cups of warm water first. Let that cool and mix with the cold water. Maybe 1/4 cup salt to 1 gal cold water.
My friend makes tye dyes to sell, and he uses a chemical called centhropol on his dyed shirts, and they do not ever bleed on skin or on each other, even when soaked in dye. Just toss a cupful in the load, and colors stay bright and don't ever bleed!
Oh, he gets it at a pool supply store
