How to get stinky smells out of your refrigerator?
Question:My boyfriends power was cut off when he was out to sea. So all the meats and frozen vegitables that were in there, went rotten and spoiled. The fridge and the whole house stunk so bad. He cleaned out the fridge, now whats the quickest way to get that smell out of it before he starts buying food to put in it?
Answers:
Wash all the refrigerator out with vinegar. I mean the freezer, shelves, storing compartments and the inside shelves and inside door.
Then set a box of hammer baking soda in the refrig. Also they have these ones that hook to the inside of the refrig and when it turns pink replace and throw away the old one. Wash all the containers that were in the refrig also. Good Luck to you. If you would rather use bleach hot water and dawn to clean the refrig but make sure to rinse when you do this. Good Luck to you!!
leave open baking soda..and spray febreeze on the door
set a cup of vinegar in it overnight then wipe it out the next day with fresh vinegar and bakeing soda it WILL work
Beach, air it out, and put baking soda in after you restart it.
baking soda all the way! put a few open containers in there
arm and hammer bking soda
First disinfect it with Lysol, then scrub baking soda over the inside to soak up the odors. Arm and Hammer makes little boxes of refrigerator odor absorbers too.
Get a new refrigerator. The smell will never go away!!
I had this problem with a freezer. I took out everything that I could and washed it in bleach and soap water. I sprayed Lysol disinfectant spray in it and wiped it out. Then I took baking powder and shook it out all over the thing. This works for coolers to. Doing this with the baking soda is messy but after you do that you can vaccum it up. Good luck.
Clean with Tilex bathroom spray cleaner.
Depending how long the spoiled food was in there you might never get rid of the smell totally.
The smell gets into the insulation.
Use baking soda and warm water.
Scrub with a bleach product and put a couple of baking soda boxes in there.
