Does anyone know how to neutralize an unknown odour that has developed in my kitchen .?

Question:It smells like something died in there . I have cleaned out every drawer and cupboard and found nothing . It appears to be centered on one area on the floor .. I have cleaned this with everything I can including bleach . The floor is a concrete floor covered with lino style tiles which are bonded to the floor. The smell isn't diminishing and is dreadful. Any suggestions however wierd would be gratefully accepted .

Answers:
I know a couple of ways of getting smells out of the kitchen. Backing soda is a natural odor eater and if you set small containers around your kitchen it will absorb the smell. Vinagar also absorbs smells. If that doesn't work take a small sauce pan and a cinnamon stick. Boil the cinnamon stick in the sauce pan with water and the kitchen will smell wonderfull.

You might have mold growing under the lino. It might be a good idea to lift the lino,if possible to check. If water as managed to get under the lino ,this will cause the mold to grow and cause the bad smell.
You may be right on. If it is behind a cabinet, I would pull the molding out and see if there's something else you can remove. Get a pair of rubber gloves and some paper towels and a couple of plastic bags. Cover the offender with the paper towel; Then use the double or triple bags to lift it and dump it in the trash, outside. Tie it well or your trash will inherit the smell. Then use your bleach in a spray bottle and I would let it sit over night then spray again and scrub if necessary. Next Spray the back of the molding and put the molding back in place.
may be like a dead mice under the kitchen cabinets or inside the base cabinets check there, wash the floor with bleach, also check under the sink, take everything out and make sure all the plumbing is in place (no leaks)
straight vinegar, however there may be mold lurking somewhere
You may have a dead mouse under the cabinet. Pull all the bottom doors of the cabinet out and look for the deceased animal. You can eleviate the smell with moth balls under the cabinet. The smell usually doesn't last long once the body has decayed.
Oh dear. Have you checked in your walls for mice, perhaps?

Meanwhile, try leaving a bowl of vinegar or a dish of baking soda out to hopefully absorb some of the smell. And meanwhile, try putting baking soda and vinegar down the sink in case there's an odor there too.

Good luck!
i know you said the floor but ther garbage disposal is a likely culprit as well. rock salt in the disaposal helps it could be a plumbing leak under the slab
Ammonia is great for taking out odors.
