Does using body wash instead of a bar of soap in the shower reduce/prevent soap scum build up?

Question:I use liquid body wash, husband refuses to switch from his bar soap, but I swear the soap scum is much worse with the bar. Does anyone know if this is true?

Answers:
It seems the same to me. A quick way to clean it up though is to use your bodywash or old shampoo-put some on a washcloth and wipe the walls while you are taking a shower. I do this most of the time I take a shower. I have no buildup on my shower doors. It works great.

I use Oil of Olay Body Wash and don't notice any difference with soap skum.
Yes, that is true!

Because the bar, has wax and oil products that stick to things, whereas liquid soap does not!!
We've done an experiment--sort of. When the kid who uses only body wash is home and the only bar soap one is gone, and vice versa, we don't see any difference in the soap film on the glass shower door.
If the body wash is detergent-based rather than soap-based, you should get less scum.
I like the smell of bath wash better myself...i buy soap for kids, and yes the build up is worse
I use a mild shampoo as a body wash, much less expensive and no soap scum.
You bet it's true. Bar soap is nasty
