Laundry - how do I know how much laundry is one load?
Question:Is there a more dorky definition of "load"? Small load, large load, extra large load... This not only impact the amount of detergen to use (which line to fill to) but also what setting to use on the washer.
I could use how much the laundry fill up the washeras a guide but my parents have a large washer while the one in my apartment is tiny. I could also go by the size of laundry hamper, but they come in different sizes too.
Answers:
Put it in the washer. If it fits, that is one load.
What you can fit in the washer, within reason.
man ,, dont stress this one... i got you!
one load equals the amount of laundry you decide to put in the wash...
-no more,,, no less-

your welcome.
Fill the washer with clothes, loosely, until they reach the top row of holes in the tub.
Most washers have instructions written in a book or sometimes on the inside lid of the washer. I usually run at full water amount as clothes get cleaner this way. I use only cold water. IA small apt washer can handle generally 2 changes of clothes.(a change being one pair of jeans, one shirt, one underwear and socks.) as the washer tub gets larger you can add another set of clothes. But you will want to sort colors, example: a small load would be two pair jeans a dark shirt, and dark socks,
equals one dark load in a small washer. a medium washer would be three pair jeans etc. a large would be four pair jeans. If you wash jeans alone (which is best) 3, 4, 6 prs dependent on the size of the washer tub. if you over load the washer you can hear it when it washes, when the igitator is moving you can hear that it is laboring. you don't want to do that as it will wear the washer out. Approx size of load: apartment size washer: 3 pr jeans, or
1 set of sheets, or 3 heavy thick towels, 4 small towels, and so on. you will figure it out as you use it. NEVER turn washer on and leave. clothes can get out of balance and the washer will pound an jump around,if you are not there you may burn out the motor, if you are there, stop the washer and rebalance the load. It is always best to put more then one peice such as a rug, put two for balance. Soap bottles or boxes will tell how much to use per size load, they vary so you just need to read it.
From my experience, if I can't hold the clothes loosely in my arms on the way to the laundry room, then it's too many clothes. Remember, once you've placed them in the washer, there should still be room for more clothes. But, don't add any more! The clothes need to move about in the water easily to get the detergent and/or fabric softener throughout the items. If they can't move easily about, then they're not really getting clean.
I fill the washer up too the middle part in the washer. I don't go over it or push the laundry down into the washer because that over loads the washer.
