How much ordinary detergent should I use in my front-loading washer?
Question:Anyone have experience using ordinary detergent rather than high-efficiency (low-suds) detergent in one of the new front-loaders? If you've tried it, did it work? If I ordinarily use one full scoop in a top-loading machine, how much should I use in my front-loader? A half-scoop? A third?
Answers:
I use regular detergent but use 1/2 to 3/4 of what they tell you to. If everything is really dirty I use the full amount and I put in some vinegar ( a cup) to help get all of the soap out. You don't have to use vinegar. The worst thing that happens is it will say suds or something like it and stop washing and wait for the suds to go away, do an extra rinse cycle, or your clothes may still have a soapy residue.
Two problems, one is how much to clean your clothes, next, is how much can you use without the suds coming out the door. Trail and error. I would wash less clothe with less water and less soap, and work up from there.
I have had a front loader for 7 years and it does a fantastic job cleaning, I'll never go back. I even have been washing cloth diapers in it for 2 years. You really don't need very much soap, the machine does the work. I only use a few Tablespoons. You can buy the special soap, or just use less of the normal stuff.
Depends on how much water your washer fills up with. You would use the same amount if there is equal amounts of water. Usually, on the door of the washer, there is info about how many gallons it contain.
But really, as long as you don't through the whole boy in, you can't go wrong.
i have a question for you (you don't except e-mails)
You answer to my last question was helpful...could you help me further? Check my additions?
Thanks, and good luck.
Use about half and it will work the same.
i work for maytag if you use the powder use 1/2 cup to 3/4 but samsung makes most all the front loaders even if they have maytag or another name on it we really recomend that you use hd detergent (better grade of liquid) so there you go from the pros that know
