I just bought a front load wash machine that uses "high efficiency" soap. What happens if I don't use it?
Question:I have tide left over - a whole big box- brand new - & I don't want to get rid of it if I can still use it for this wash machine. It's not high efficiency soap tho - Can I still use it?
Answers:
Washer manufacturers recommend that only 'HE' high efficiency detergents be used in their front load and high efficiency washers, and most will even recommend a particular brand of HE detergent.
There is a good reason for using detergent that is specially formulated for these newer front load washers. HE detergent is a concentrated laundry soap that is low-sudsing especially for use with low water high efficiency washers.
If regular detergents were to be used in front-loading and high efficiency washers, the presence of too much suds could 'confuse' washing cycles, cause delays and make proper rinsing of clothes difficult.
Similar to why dish detergent does not work well in a dishwasher which requires specially formulated no-sudsing dishwasher detergent, performance can be severely affected by the use of improper detergents in low water washing machines.
Yes,but dont use as much per load as the directions say.You have a low water washer so a little soap goes a long way.Ive had my washer for about three years and I love it.If you will notice, the soap dispenser has a line marking how much soap to put in.
Use the right one for your machine. Front-loader manufacturers recommend high-efficiency detergents, typically labeled “HE,” which are made to work with smaller volumes of water. It’s not as clear-cut for top-loaders, so check the owner’s manual. Using the wrong type can lead to oversudsing or poor results.
If you use the regual soap I would just use half of what you would normal use or just save it and use it to pre treat stains. I wouldn't put it in the washer, You give it to one of your friends or your mom and just say I can't use this any more becuase I have a different washer now. You could take all your blankets to a landry mat and use it there. Whatever you decided to do I hope you have good luck!
I'd go back to where you bought the wash machine and ask them. They would know what to tell you.
