How is that mushrooms can grow in the bathroom?
Question:i clean the house everyday, especially the important ones like the kitchen and bathroom. today i went to the daily cleaning and theirs a white mushroom coming from the tile, this house doesnt have a vent so i crack open the windows to let the steam out. and the windows in both my bathrooms are always open so how in the hell did that thing grow in there. when i clean the bathrooms i bleach/water it once a month, and pine- sol it twice a week. but yet its there. HOW!!!
Answers:
mushrooms like moisture. You need some fungicide. The plywood under the linoleum or tiles is rotting because it got wet. Only way to fix is tear up the floor and replace the ply and the floor.
I don't know, but I do know that for mushrooms to grow, there
MUST be some kind of food source.
Are you sure it's a mushroom? because some molds look
like mushrooms. And they grow in moist, dark area.
I'm just a normal person with little knowledge so don't depend
on me.
Not having a vent allows the moisture to get into the cracks and crevices; there by giving you mold and apparently mushrooms. I actually had the same thing happen a few years ago, and it was the same situation no vent so I cracked a window, I had a lot of issues with this and eventually had a vent put in. Bleach water is great, you can also try to spray ammonia in water in the areas that will kill anything.
