How to clean blinds?
Question:The plastic, horizontal ones.
I need a simple solution, not putting them in a bathtube or using a hose. We don't have enough time to do that.
Are there any good wipes or any type of cleaners that would help?
Thanks for your help!!

I've found that closing the blinds and taking a rag with some Windex on it and running them across the blinds (horizontally) and do each strip of blinds until you are finished.
They make a little plastic fuzzy cleaner that you can get at most walmart type stores. It looks like a big comb with a cover on it that you put in a warm wet bucket and then run over the blinds.
Do one room a week in the bathtub. It only takes a minute to take them down. Or get clorox wipes to do it the hard way.
Take your blinds down and put them in the shower, wet them down, use regular dish soap like you would une in the sink to clean dishes - only in a bucket, use a brush to clean off the dirt and rinse, leave them sit in the shower awhile to drip and hang your clean blinds back up.
When you say clean blinds, I'm guessing they are dusty. Try Swiffer Dusters. They are inexpensive and work really well. You can use them on horizontal and vertical blinds and many other things. They can be bought at Longs Drugs and many other department stores.
Good Luck!
You could keep your shades up, and spray with a solution of soap, water & bleach and wipe it off. This is a bit messy. But, shades will look nice.
The other way which I know you said you did not want to do...
My mother taught me a way...take it outside, over a bucket, lather entire thing with soap & bleach, spray with hose (or use a bucket with water to douse shades with to rinse) and dry with towels (If you can get someone to help you, have one person wash and one person drying) Then hang up in 1/2 hr. If you have a clothes line, use it. But only do one at a time cause it is much work doing it by yourself.
Good luck with the cleaning of the shades. I think I will do mines this weekend.
Thank you!
Spending hours on cleaning "plastic" blinds is very unproductive, as you can buy one of these for around $3. Supposing your home has 25 windows, new blinds at $3 per window would cost you $75. Cleaning 25 old blinds in the bathtub, or even using a hose, will require at least four to six hours of your time and the cost of chemicals, rubber gloves, etc. Personally, I would rather be watching a baseball game!
