Are the particles of rubber round the door of my new washing machine normal?

Question:I have just bought my first ever new washing machine. always had second hand before. when it spins it leaves very fine particles of rubber on the clothes. they do shake off. Its from where the drum rubs on the rubber seal. is this normal for a new machine or should i be worried. Thanks

Answers:
No, it's not normal. It could be three things - particles resulting from manufacture - which would disappear over time; it might also be caused by water that's too hot making the seal break down (more expected on old machines); or a faulty seal.

I'd go for caution and get the machine replaced. I'm on my third, and none of them has had this problem.

no
That's not normal & you need to call the store where you purchased it & let them know what is going on.
no its fine.if your really that worried about it have it checked out.but u should be fine.dont worry
You need to wipe away any detergent or washing powder from the rubber lining after each wash to ensure this doesn't happen.
If the drum is actually making contact with the rubber door seal then it will eventually wear it away and the machine will leak. if not, don't worry about it.
No , this is not normal, shame as it´s your first new machine. Look´s like you have been unlucky, but don´t worry , they will change it as there is a fault
