Homemade Mildew cleaning product?
Question:DOes anybody have any tips as to whatis the best way of getting rid of mildew in bathrooms? We have it all over our ceiling. it was like that when we rented the flat and i'm sick of it and i just wana clean it so we can redecorate!
Please, any tips will be greatly appreciated.
Any homemade products? I've heard vinegar and lemon juice work fab!

Try that, but it could be damp too. Get it treated with fungicide..
If you can get the use of a steam cleaning machine use that first. You can use vinegar, lemon juice and washing up liquid. Tee tree essential oil in water will also do the job. Best of luck, I hate cleaning ceilings.
A bicarbonate solution does it very well if it is sprayed on and left to soak for a minute or two then you take it off with a nail brush whilst keeping it wet with the solution.
The reason you have to brush it off is because if you just wipe it off the spores are still in the minute ridges in the paint .
then you will have to paint the ceiling with a barrier paint before putting the top coat on.
Diluted bleach will kill them, but unless you tackle the damp problem they will just come back. Fit an extractor fan.

Bleach is the best.
Use a product containing bleach and says it removes mold and mildew and spray up to the ceiling.
Be careful as not to get any in your eyes.
Just a bit will work. Do not soak the area.
A homemade product, just put bleach in a spray bottle and get to work.

There is no home made solution for mildew, what I think you have is mold. The only way to get rid of this ,to treat it with a proprietary fungicide, though in sever attacks a number of applications may be necessary. Do not use house hold bleach, which although it seems to work, has only a temporary effect The mold will return in a matter of months. Allow the fungicide to work, then wipe off any debris with clean cloth.
I would get a small spray bottle and put half water and half bleach in it. Make sure all the windows are open and spray the bathroom down. Leave the bleach/water on it for a few minets and then start scrubbing it. Bleach kills all mold.
