Limescale removal?
Question:I've tried everything to remove limescale from the shower tray but had to resort to scraping away in the end with a fair bit of elbow grease. Is there a simple alternative so I can restore it to its original condition?
Answers:
flat coca cola poured on and left before rinsing will do it or white vinegar
calcium... vinegar
some steelwool and that elbow grease works the best unless u feel like messing with De-limer (not fun)
I use one of those wire mesh scouring pads and some Windex. Works great for me.
Drown it in vinegar. Overnight.
I do commercial cleaning. I have had pretty good luck with drowning it in "Lime-Away." It works good for me. Another option is to go to the hard ware of pool supply store and get some muratic acid. That smells bad, is kind of messy but it is guranteed to work.
A wipe over with a vinegar soaked cloth should help remove the scale and it's really cheap!
A blocked shower head can be soaked in vinegar to remove the lime scale - you can wrap it in a vinegar soaked cloth overnight. Be careful though as if you use full strength vinegar you might remove more than just the lime scale as the thin metal coating that gives the showerhead its colour could possibly dissolve as well. Try diluting it by adding an equal quantity of water to be safer. Good luck!
Lime Lite or Viacal
Block the drain and soak overnight with white vinegar. It works like magic. You can also do the shower head at the same time.
Baking soda + vinegar (like the volcanoes you made in school) makes a great cleaning solution. pour the baking soda on, then add the vinegar. let it bubble for a minute then use a stiff bristle brush to scrub the stuff in.
The flat Coke suggestion works because the Coke recipe includes phosphoric acid. "Shower Power" used to be available with phosphoric acid in its recipe (probably a stronger dilution than Coke!) Phosphoric acid has fallen out of favor as a household product because of its, duh, phosphorus content.
Vinegar is acetic acid diluted.
The muriatic acid idea is a little scary.
buy limeaway
There is a product called "the works" that is the best I have found for cleaning limescale and soapscum from showers, tubs and sinks. I have found it at "Big Lots" and Kmart.
Have you tried using Viakal, Or Harpic, these 2 thing´s will remove the limescale
There is a product called kilrock that knocks s[pots off anything else i have ever tried.
a good limescale remover from any supermarket works for me if it is quite hard just leave it on overnight repeat until gone
try CLR it will work fine with minimal elbow grease, will also not damage surface. added bonus it gets ris of calcium and rust. rinse when done.
Lemon Juice or vinegar left to soak works for me
Lime-Away works great for lime scale. I use it on my shower and shower head. If it is really bad, soak it over night. Be careful always use gloves and if soaking for an extended period of time use a fan for proper ventilation.
If you are in the UK, visit your nearest Lidl store. They sell a product called W5 Limescale remover. It really does work. Costs about £1.80
distilled viengar :)
One of those toilet cleaners that remove limescale will work wonders.

Cillit bang is great for limescale and soap scum removal!
But am going to try the coke thing!
lemons
I would use lime away or CLR. If both of those didn't work I'd use a straight razor and gently remove the limescale.
