My electric clothes dryer is making a ticking sound, like a clock?

Question:It is not on a "timed" cycle. Any ideas? It is 2 years old, and always kept clean, lint trap etc.
Thanks!

Answers:
I take it it happens when it is running a cycle.

It is possible that an object has gone through the vent holes and is catching on the outer drum.

If it is doing it whilst stationary then un plug it as it may indicate an electrical fault, then get an engineer to look at it.

Something probably got caught in the drum. Run your hand around the drum, and see if you can feel anything.
