Any suggestions to stop the smell after one cooks?
Question:I live in a townhome and when I cook the smell of cooking remains in the house and sometimes for more than a few days. I do turn on the air conditioner, I open the windows, I spray etc. I just don't know if there is a home-remedy for this. I don't like the sprays too much because is temporary and sometimes that makes me sick. Any help will be appreciated.

i didn't know about the simmering...i will definately try that. you could also pour some baking soda in a small bowl or jar and leave it in each room that smells. that will soak up the scent like it does in your refrigerator.
Put a tsp. of vanilla in some water and simmer it . Or you can burn a candle. You can also simmer vanilla, lemon juice and ground cinnamon for a little while. Works very well, especially after frying fish or shrimp.
While you are cooking, have a bowl of vinegar next to the stove to absorb the cooking ordors. My dad has a sensitive nose and we live in an apartment. So the smells used to bother him ALOT.
The vinegar thing we found in a magazine and it works great!
Bowl of vinegar in the room
My wife and I have a little gas grill and when we cook smelly stuff like fish, we do it on the patio. It works well for us.
dont cook lol, use a spray of lemon juice and vinerger
Open the windows.
open the windows or you could cut up onions to absorb the smell, works wonders
run a little sink of water and pour pine sol in it. it'll smell the whole house up. and they'll think you just cleaned!
Burn a candle when you cook...vanilla or lemon scented is best as they absorb odors.
BOIL VINEGAR
For burned food boil a few slices of lemon in a saucepan to clear the air of burned food.
For fried food (this works on any fried food odor) place a small bowl of white vinegar next to the stove while you're frying foods.
