What gets permanent marker out of carpet?

Question:We have about eight spots that are the size of a quarter. Please help! Thank You

Answers:
Nail polish remover removes permanent marker. HOWEVER, depending on your type of carpet, it could also remove the color (test an inconspicuous are). After you blot it up I would rinse with water to remove the residual acetone.

Scissors.
try goof off or goo gone. There's also something at home depot called "Lift Off". It's a spray, you can check to see if that might work.

All of that stuff is located in the paint department.
Not to be a smart ***, but there is a reason that it is call permanent. If it is not to deep in the pile of the carpet, you may be able to cut out the bad.
