I just bought a set of 800tc cotton sateen sheets and they easily stain!! Why?
Question:I fell asleep crying a bit, just to wake up to a bright pink stain on my pillowcase! The same thing happened with my mom's sheets, they are all stained from water that dropped on them. I thought the higher the tc, the harder to stain.

I would wonder too... what color are they?
I have egyptian cotton sheets on all our beds (they are heavenly LOL) and they don't seem to stain any more than the other counts.
had you washed them prior to using them? if not, the starch that is in them to begin with could be discoloring... I usually wash mine in hot water and dry on hot before ever using them.
cotton is easily 'colored' because of its natural fiber content.
use Oxyclean and hot water as a prewash stain treatment... then wash and see if they come clean
I don't think it's water stain. I'm assuming the sheets themselves are pink and that the stain is just a darker shade of pink. Based on that my husband's pillow has the same thing going on with it while mine doesn't. Best I can figure is that he has relatively oily hair (lots of people do) compared to mine and tends to stain the sheets with use. I've never found they won't come out in the wash. You could treat them with a stain remover or it their light colored sheets (whites or pastels) add some bleach to the wash if you feel they aren't coming clean how you normally wash them.
