Can I hang darks and broghts to dry in the sun? Jeans inside out?
Question:Well, this is my first year as a country girl...
And I have no idea what damage the sun might do to our clothes!
Also, I just read that silk and rayon can't go outside, or it will turn yellow.
Please let me know what I can and can't put out in the sun.
Thanks!

If you can have a clothes line under a porch or another covered area it would be best. You can hang almost anything out, but the sun will weaken fabrics. I turn everything inside out and try not to leave them out longer than it takes for them to dry. I have a line in the yard and one on my side porch. Whites are the only thing I hang in the full sun...the rest go on the porch.
The lycra in clothing (bras particularly) is weaken fast, so you may want to hang them in the bathroom to dry.
I like to do laundry in the evenings and then I can bring it in nice and fresh the next morning.
Hope this helps.
Best not - they might melt in the sun.
Well first about the jeans, it's a good idea to hang them inside out and upside down so they don't come out so wrinkled. Silk and rayon can go outside just not in the blaring sun. Try hanging them in your wash room or under a tree if you can. Outside drying saves so much money and people have been doing it for years, If you do have a dryer after there dry toss them in the dryer for about five minutes with a dryer sheet to make them soft. Sheets dry best on the line then they smell so much better when you take them off.
