Maggots in my Living Roon and Kitchen, need help?

Question:Hi guys, I was on vacation for a week. I came back home today, just to find out I had maggots in my livingroom and kitchen. I have no carpet in my livingroom, turned every furniture upside down and couldnt find the source. Even in the kitchen, I looked everywere. All the trash cans were emptied out before I left so I dont know were they are coming from. (Some were sitting under the couch, others in the corners or under my tv cabinet, but there was no food, decaying material etc.) I didnt had many of them, just a few. I swept them off with a broom and then washed my floors but every now and then I see one crawling around. And they are pretty fast, some of them were even crawling up the walls. Is there anything I can do since I cant find the source?! Is there a chance that they could crawl on me, I am a little freaked out that they could try to get into my skin.

Call a Pest Control specialist! Also... I had a similar problem once, but it wasn't maggotts... it was fruit flies and gnats - I went on vacation and came back to a kitchen FULL of small flying insects. which I'm SURE would have producted maggotts. I had left coffee grinds in my coffee maker and it was FULL of mold and YUCK!. ewwwwwwww

good luck

The only thing I can think of is something is dead in your walls or under your place. My mom had the same thing happen to her but we found out it was the cat litter box that was being filled while we were gone. Flies can lay eggs just about anywhere but the high chances are a dead thing is where they are coming from. So I don't know what yo say other then check under your house if your not in a house well your neighbors places can be messy and they get through the walls that way. I would talk to your landlord if you have one and tell him/her what is going on and let them know everything you did before you left and see what he/she can come up with. If you own your home then call a pest control place and see what you can get or what they can do if there is nothing you can buy for it. I know I would be bombing my house with flee killer and a bunch of it just to get everything dead and gone just cause I am like you with the creepy crawlies...YACK
dead animals in the attic or under the floor? make sure they are killes as soon as you see them, wash all your clothes and sheets, vac your mattress. are you sure they are maggots and not worms that are in something like bird seed, a friend had infested dry dog food and she came home to a whole ceiling full of little worms.
the 1st answer is good - there must be something dead / decaying in your walls/attic, under floor (foundation) that is causing this outbreak -- chances are they were there before you left - just never showed up...

Gonna have to call Pest Control - but thats a weird one...those things are so gross - and will be turning into flies soon, and the process will repeat...

Good Luck
somewhere theres a source...odd isnt this?? hmm..well maggotts are fly eggs so their apparently hatching out .. do you have alot of flies in your home?? anyway get some fly spray and spray in those areas and all around thouroughly see if this doesnt kill them. if not call an exterminator and ask them..
good luck..id think if there was something dead under your hosueor in the walls there wou;ld be anasty odor.. like whenmice die...
