How do I keep up with all this laundry.?

Question:I am finally almost all the way caught up with laundry and I never, ever want it to get that bad again! My husband and I both work full time and go to school so what are good tips in keeping up with every day laundry?

Answers:
Oh I hear ya on having the laundry stack up. We have myself and my husband and our 3 kids. We all have two changes of clothes a day school/work uniforms and regular clothes. I do laundry every day its not fun but the easiest way to keep on top of it I have found it to get a few of those big rolling laundry carts with a few bins and seperate everything so there is no sorting before tossing it all in the washer. Just take it off and put in in the right bin.

I keep one in the laundry room and one in each bathroom. It took a while to get hubby and kids used to sorting the stuff correctly but it saves me alot of time.

i love doing lundary
put a load on everyday when you come in and at the end of
the week it will all be done.
Do a load a day. One put it in the washer and the other put it in the dryer. Both fold and put away.
Use smaller towels for showers. It's hard to find the medium sized ones at the store that are big enough for my hair, but they make it a lot easier to keep up with the wash.
look, just don't be stupid and go do your laundry.k.
Do one thing at a time!! As soon as you get up, put a load in the washing machine. While that is going, do your regular routine. Before leaving the house, put the load in the dryer. When you get home, put a load in the washer and take load out of dryer. Before going to bed, put load in dryer and fold load from 1st load out of dryer. Do this daily and it will solve your problem. Each act only takes about 5 minutes, but it will add up over the day. Good luck!
I have no idea. I have the same problem. I am about to do another 2 bags for the second time in 4 days.
Get off the internet and go wash clothes.
I have a laundry sorter that has three different compartments. One for whites, darks and towels. Once a compartment is full, I do a load. I also have a basket for dry cleaning and items to be hand washed.
put it in the washer b4 u leave..
then put it in the dryer after work..
then do w/e u do.
and fold them sorta b4 u go to bed.
The only thing that I found was each day do a load when you get home. It worked for me. Hope you find something that works for you. I had to make myself do it every day, but it worked. Good luck.
Do a load or two every day or every other day, so you don't get stuck doing it all at once. Don't ever leave your washer & dryer running while you're away, as some have suggested. That's asking for trouble!!!
try to do a load every night. things like bath towels and other one use but not dirty items can be done on a quick wash cycle saving time per load or even using more than once will cut down on the amount you have to do.
well maybe you should create a system like ask somebody to take your laundry to a place that will clean it and pick it up after school! or u could hire a maid or house keeper but thoses can be price-y so u could try keeping to organized and make a day on ur calender every week, month whatever when u do the laundry..all of it.. everything!
each on of you put a load in every other day... it all has to do with changing your habits and maintaining them...you both have to see the problem as a household chore priority, otherwise you'll be battling this by yourself
try to do 1 wash a day its only the 2 of you that should work for you, good luck I will be checking back for answers to this myself with a family of 5.. 1 a day doesn't cut it...IT NEVER GOES AWAY...
If it's only the 2 of you, what's the problem? Stop being lazy and do your wash. Let him wash his own stuff and you do yours. What's the big deal?
Reuse bath towels. We never reuse washcloths, but we use our towels for a couple of days if possible. Just hang them to dry as soon as you towel off after your bath or shower.

Also, many people come home from work, change clothes, then change again to go to bed. Consider keeping your workclothing on, or changing directly into clothing you can sleep in.

Good luck! :)
1. If you can afford it use a dry cleaning service for work pants and shirts so you only have to do undies and t-shirts at home.
2. Go to the laundry mat and use the extra large machines
3. Hang up clothes to wear again if they aren't dirty, smelly, or soiled. Towels should last more than one day.
4. Train your husband now to help with the chores. If it's just the two of you maybe make it your Sunday tradition to do laundry and take turns switching it along.
5. Use it as a break from homework to throw in a load
baby steps!
do a little bit through out the week. maybe not everday but at least 2 or 3 times a week...but multi task too. do other things that need to get done while doing the laundry...its really easy and saves alot of time.
Do a load about every 3 days (whites) and then 3 days later do a load of (colors). It would also be helpful if your husband would do one load and you do the other - that way, each of you do one load a week.......
It NEVER hurts a man to learn how to do this!
The trick is to set a study date at the laundromat and keep it every week, no matter what.

I also pre-sort my laundry as clothes are changed through the day/evening. Whites go in one collapsible laundry basket, perm.press in another, my delicates in third, jeans & socks are sorted separately from towels and sheets. You get the idea. That way it doesn't take so long at the laundry machines, either.
Visit your Mum & say "you know I could never get the laundry done as good as you used to" then leave the full basket & return the following week.
try this web-site.

she give house cleaning tips etc. She suggests doing one load at a time- start to finish. Wash, dry, fold and put away before you start another load. It does work
I am a mother of 2 and my husband and i both work full time jobs. I completely understand not having time to keep up with it. I suggest this:
1. wash, dry, put up all laudry except what u r wearing at that time.
2. everyday you get home and change throw the clothes in the washer(hubby does the same). ya'll can combine it all into one load. dry it and put it up before you go to bed.
3. everyday repeat this. it's a pain in the ars at times but you get use to it. GOOD LUCK!!

I hope this helps!
I have a husband and 3 kids. I never stop doing laundry. The only way I can keep up with it is to do a load before I leave for work, then when I return start another load and before I go to bed start another. Now the folding also backs up so I do it while watching TV, while cooking dinner and a load before I go to bed. Be sure to put up as soon as you fold it or it will stack up also. You just have to remember to keep it going.
Small load daily and then if you have a free day do all of it.A load does help you will be surprised...
