How do I find someone who can use these?
Question:I got a new vacuum cleaner to replace a broken one, and I still have two unopened packs of bags and a belt that fit the broken one. I offered the bags and the belt on my local freecycle group, but I got no hits for them. I know there are people who do use those bags, as they still sell them at stores, but I'm not going to hang out in the vacuum aisle at Kmart until someone picks up those bags to say, "I've got some you can have for free." I hate to throw these bags and belt away. I suppose I could just drop them off at Goodwill, but the problem with that is that they throw half the donations they get into their dumpsters and I don't want to risk that. I want to keep them OUT of the landfill, if possible.
And if anyone on answers wants them, they're Eureka type AA, and I'm emailable!
Answers:
List them on eBay! I bet someone will buy them.
**edit**
This just occurred to me. If you really want to save them from the landfill, consider taking them to a vacuum repair shop. Free parts for them and youre not wasting them.
It's nice of you to want to help but you may just throw them away to solve your problem.
My example is this: I save hardware when I do a job at home. When it's time to do another job I can't find the parts I need. So I go to the store and buy more parts and do the job. When I am done I save the extra parts in the garage for the next job. When it's time to do another job, again, I can't find the parts I need so I go to the store and buy... well I think you understand what I am saying. LOL
If all else fails and you don't want to throw you vacuum parts away you could try EBay?
Advertise them in your local co-op, paper shop, or in your local paper, you can say '' free hoover bags & belt for--- '' etc, etc , .
put an ad in your local newspaper
Try craigslist. You can sell anything there and it is free. Just go to craigslist.org (don't type the www) and select your state and then your city and you can advertise thses in any category you choose (barter, free, household, et cetera). If you've never used craigslist you are in for a treat!
Is there a local food pantry that would take donations such as this? I know our local one has non-food items.
