How do I get a crease out of a rug?
Question:I had a piece of carpet bound to make a rug but it has been in storage and got folded. It has been laid flat for a week now but the crease won't come out
Answers:
Could you steam it? How about putting something heavy on it to try and flatten it? Also, sounds daft but put ice-cubes on the crease and let them melt (it's supposed to bring the pile up on carpet where furniture has flatted it so may work on a crease). Otherwise perhaps get it cleaned?
Fold it the opposite way for a week and rub over the crease with a clean, damp rag to gently fluff up the pile.
soak it in milk, then let it dry slowly in a damp warm room.
you should wet the rug (if that wont ruin it), this may get the crease out
Leave the rug in full sunlight with a line of ice cubes on the crease, leave out until the cubes melt, the rug dries and the crease has gone!
place heavy books on it
k
turn it upside down and cover it with a tea towel and iron it with the most amount of steam setting on the iron.
