Black mark on wall from burning a candle?
Question:I havea huge black mark on my white painted wall from burning a candle. What can I use to get it off. I have tried those magic erase things and cleaner with bleach. nothing is working. i cant repaint over it bcuz i live in an apt. help!

First use a vacuum attachment to remove as much loose carbon as possible,. Then rub the area with a dry sponge or a commercially available "soot sponge" - this is chemically treated to absorb soot and dirt into its pores. Finally wipe the wall with a solution of 1 Tbsp tri-sodium phosphate (TSP) diluted in about 1 gallon of warm water - and then rinse thoroughly. In some cases, this treatment will remove some paint together with the stain - in this case, you may need to prime the area and repaint. Note: just painting over the area without removing the stain will not work as the stain will likely "bleed through" the new paint within a few weeks or months.
try rubbing alcohol
Well you are going to have to repaint that wall. I would get a spray can of Kilz stain sealer (sold at wal-mart) and a quart of paint that matches closely. First spray the damaged area two times with the Kilz. Then lightly apply a coat or two of the color match. You cannot just paint over it. The stain will come through the paint without using the stain sealer. It is very easy. Goodluck.

If all else fails try a baby wipe-they get spg sauce off of the carpet.
