How can i remove sticky residue from a wood veneer surface?

Question:My husband used a rubber/plastic shelf liner rather than a table pad under the tablecloth on our dining room table. it left a sticky residue behind that I'm having trouble removing. Suggestions?

Answers:
I use a little olive oil and rub it around with and orange half. Then lightly buff with a soft cloth. Not only does it clean the surface of any sticky residue, but also gives it a pleasant smell and shine!

type wood veneer + cleaning into your search engine. there is probably something a the supermarket that can get it off
Buy yourself some miracle stuff... called Goo Gone. You can buy it at any Home Depot
cooking oil will remove it and no danger in harming any finish
