Clean house?
Question:I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids, ages 7, 2,1. My husband has been telling me for a long time that I am obsessed with cleaning. On an average day I clean for at least 10 hours. I have tried to explain to him that I have to clean so much so that we don't live in fiflth and so our family does'nt get sick from uncleaness. It seems that he does'nt believe me. How can I make him better understand that with 3 kids it takes alot of housework to keep a clean house and the importance of cleanliness.

Sorry hun, this is an ongoing battle between women and men! There really is no way he could possibly know how hard it is on us until he lives in our shoes.
HE IS RIGHT AND YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM
I'm a firm believer that there is such a thing as too clean of a house--your kids live in a somewhat sterile environment at home--when they go to school or to a store or wherever there are germs & bacteria, they will get a lot sicker than the average kid because their little bodies have never encountered these things before & have never had a chance to build up immunities.
by all means keep your house neat & tidy but just remeber--it's not a hospital
relax & live a little-- spend more time with your kids & less time cleaning
Lighten up a little! This is not the 50's. Why don't you try getting a hobby?

Her site was developed for those who live in "chaos" and do not have a cleaning routine which may seem to be something you don't need but if you look at her info it will show you how to cut down the time you spend cleaning and still have a neat and clean home.
I clean houses and offices part time but I do not clean my house 10 hours a day. I try to dust and sweep once a week. I have to make time for my son and his activities too.
i agree that you nees to visit flylady.net. it has helped me tremendously. i clean houses for a living so naturally i dont want to clean my own. with the flylady system, you take babysteps toward your goal of having a clean house and loving yourself. i have 4 kids(12,8,8,5), so i know how overwhelmed it can get. try flylady and try to stick with it. it works.
