So, I've heard vinegar in your dishwasher does and doesn't work to get rid of the cloudy film on your dishes
Question:Has anyone actually tried this? How well does it work??
Answers:
It does work IF the glass isn't etched. Once the glass is etched it is permanent and cannot be removed with vinegar nor any thing else. You can also just soak the dishes that are cloudy in a sink full of water and a cup of white vinegar and it does the same thing as running them through the dishwasher, but since it is less water the vinegar is more concentrated. And, vinegar is a lot cheaper than jet-dry or rinse aides.
It works, however, a simpler way to do this is to purchase Jet Dry. It's a rinsing agent that leaves your dishes sparkly.
Vinegar works... if you add a cup or two to the bottom of the dishwasher... but... it doesn't last forever.
Using Jet Dry religiously does work.
It would work but I would rather use a rinse aid.. it lasts much much longer...
Regarding the dishwasher.. every once in a while its a good idea to add a capful of bleach , it deodorizes as well as rids the washer of bacteria..
I buy the Electrasol tabelets that have jet dry in it at Costco. $11 for a huge bucket of them. One a load works pecfectly. Not one speck of film!
