If I heat up my utensils before use, will it kill all the bacteria?
Question:I don't wash my utensils.. I just stick them in the fridge after use until I need to use them again. I heard either heat or chemicals kills bacteria, so if I stick my utensils in the microwave for 1-2 minutes before using them, will it kill all the bacteria just like washing them would?

a full Ten Minutes - on the top of the stove. You cannot put metal utensils in the Microwave.

Nothing is better than good old soap and water - how lazy do you have to get before you're in the ER? Seriously - wise up and wash up! A little soapy scrub and you're golden - dirty evil cold utensils in the fridge - hmmmm? Ever had colitis?? Not fun - but do whatcha gotta do.dude.wash the freakin spoons!
If you don't wash them, there are sanitary wipes that can do the sanitizing for you.
Clorox makes a sanitizing wipe that works.
Yeah microwaving the utensils wont work when they say heat you want to use steam or boiling water.

Boiling utensils for at least 10 minutes will kill any germs.Placing them in a microwave can cause serious harm to the microwave as well as yourself.Good Luck.

Not necesarially. If the temperature doesn't get over 180 degrees then bacteria just thrive and multpile at an accelerated rate. You really should wash your utensils! A old timers trick that I learn that has actually been proven to work it pouring vinegar on them. Vinegar has been shown to kill many bacteria including salmanilla and e. coli.
Also, please please if the utensils are metal DO NOT stick them in the microwave, you'll have a fireworks show and hurt yourself and/or catch your home on fire! VERY BAD!!
