How do you get gum off hardwood Floor!!?
Question:my brother got gum on our new hardwood floor and now we cant have gum tell someone gets it off with out messing up the floor PLEASE HELP!!
Answers:
rub with peanut butter
Let one teaspoon of oil set on the gum for about 10 minutes and scrape it carefully off. Then use dishsoap to get the oil up.
freeze it and peel it or chip it off
lighter fluid works really good. it desolves the gum so it comes up really easy
ice freeze it then it will pill right off
I'd ice it but be careful when scraping it off- (the last thing you need are scratches)place a towel over the gum and scrape gentle with butter knife over the towel- then remove excess with goo gone or any oil based cleaner followed by you're actual floor cleaner.(so nobody slips) Good luck!!
I do think taking some ice and put on the gum will harden it ,so then u can just gently scrape it up
Use ice to get it hard, and then use a rubber spatula to remove it. keep adding ice to keep it cold. Another method is to apply Baby oil and then scrape.
I was going to say "Hit it with an axe until it's gone," but some of these other answers might work better. I wouldn't put any flammable liquid on the floor though - it will create a major fire hazard if it soaks in.
Use an orange based cleaner, and lightly scrape w/ a soft plastic edge or a finger nail. Wipe of with damp cloth, normal floor cleaner. ps:The orange cleaner can get slippery. pps:I wouldn't freeze it .
HERE I GO AGAIN, WD-40 WILL DO THE JOB AND WILL NOT HARM YOUR FLOOR
