How do you clean greasy dirt off porcelain items?
Question:i have a porcelain teddy bear collection that sits above the stove and i need to clean them without taking off the paint
Answers:
Try Windex. Dawn would work well too. I would hope the paint would stick. No dishwasher thought. That would kill the paint, I'm sure. It's the ammonia that gets rid of the grease. (I have the same problem in my kitchen as well.)
spray it with a a 50-50 mix of water and vinegar to loosen the grease, then wash by hand in warm sudsy water. (use a mild dish liquid such as ivory or dove). pat dry -- don't rub -- with a clean dishtowel.
and for goodness' sake, move the collection away from the stove! bacon grease is not good for porcelain!
you can go out and but some of that everyday solutions tuff scrub cleaner or take a spong and get some comet and then take some super hot water and scrub till it is no more.
MAGIC SPONG WORKS GREAT
Porcelain is very delicate. You may want to try Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water. It wont harm your collection.
