What is best for cleaning marks of the walls?

Question:We have a lovely new house but there are quite a few marks throughout the houses walls. I really need to clean these without taking off the paint or leaving scrub marks on the walls any suggestions before I attempt this?

Answers:
As the janitor at a church school, my experience is this; use the Magic Eraser to get the crud off, then a light mixture of pine-sol and HOT water with a soft rag. Then a clean, cold water rinse with another rag. You might have to wash the entire wall to get all the wipe marks off. There is no substitute for good old fashioned elbow grease.
Hope that helps you.

try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Well, not only does it depend on what the marks are, but it depends on what kind of paint is on the walls and what color paint.

If the paint is emulsion or oil-based, you can basically use anything. The best thing to remove marks is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

However, if the paint is latex or is a dark color, the magic eraser may leave the paint lighter than the rest.

Also, if the paint is mat finish or suede effect, it really isn't washable. Washable paint is either satin, semi-gloss or high gloss.

There is something I can suggest that you can use to wash the entire wall. Use plain old dish soap in hot water and use a squeegie to wash the walls or a soft mop. This shouldn't harm the paint at all.

Enjoy your new house!
Have you tried the Mr Clean magic Eraser it works really good
try "Goo Gone".. but test on a spot on your wall that is not conspicuous.. to see if paint stays. I've taken off tons of crayon on the kids' bedroom walls with this. But first, get one of those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.a.nd try that.. often it will work.
Magic eraser.
I bought some drywall cleaner that worked great.
Mr. clean eraser pad
my question to you first is"what sorts of marks are on your walls?is it food marks or pencil colour?
well for a start, try out warm water with a spouge or rug(old piece of cloth) But if that doesn't work, add just a drop of detergent with a warm water(dish liquid is better rather than trying out a strong liquid which is likelly to take or remove the paint)
ivorry soap and luke warm water, damp cloth. Rub gently and in circular motions.
Well I work in the cleaning business, and I use enviormentally friendly cleaners. And sometimes we use either vinegar, some soap and water mixed in a bottle, or what we do... 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of borax detergent (I believe) and mix them together, and use a bit of water on a cloth dip it with your baking soda and borax and use it on the wall.(test a spot first somewhere on the wall, cause that varies depending on what kind of paint is on the wall.)
I cleaned for the military when people moved out of housing and this is what we did. You can use the green scrubbing part of a sponge but don't rub too hard because you don't want the paint to rub off. Mr. Clean sponge is realy grate and I use it on my walls here at home.
