Can I get rid of stain made by red wine?
Question:I've poured a glass of red wine on my white cotton top. After dry cleaning it there is still a huge fade yellow mark on it. Can I ever get rid of it?
Answers:
I once used oxygen bleach to get red wine off a green skirt. I had to repeat the process 2 or 3 times to get it all out though. The one I used was Napi-San, but I don't think the brand matters since it's the same active ingredient. I would make a paste of your oxygen bleach and water and apply it directly to the stain, leave it for an hour, and rinse.
use white wine
Best to get these things ASAP, if the tops white you could try bleaching it. Out look doesn't look good though I'm afraid, drink white!
ive heard if you soak it in white wine it gets rid of the stain
probably not now that it's been cleaned. prior to cleaning (if it happens again) pour salt on it..i think i'm remembering right :)
Pour some white wine over the stain, leave it a short while & then wash it & it should come out
Shout it out! Shout is the best stain removal product in my opinion, though I have heard praise for oxy clean. I would rub some Shout on the stain, leave it overnight, then wash. Handwash if delicate. If the top is dry clean only I would suggest taking it back to cleaner, pointing at the stain and asking if there is any method of removal. I hope this helps, and good luck!
perhaps not if you already had it dry cleaned.
for future reference -use club soda on a fresh red wine stain or dilute with white wine
Try soaking it in Oxy-clean.
dab it with white wine or soda
Red wine is removed by adding white wine to the stain,
how about soaking the whole top in red wine and calling it an original?
People say use white wine it counteracts with the red wine.
I think the damage is done. Now that it has been drycleaned i don't think you will have much success. The best way is as soon as red wine has been spilt use soda directly on to the spill and then wash. It certainly works, I know!
