How to get out butter?

Answers:
butter is grease.
Dishwashing liquid is the easiest, cheapest and most effective way to get rid of butter / grease.. as that's what it is designed to do! But you must use hot water.. to dissolve the grease. The hotter, the better. If that fails, any kitchen bench spray (without bleach) will do the trick.. but check for colour fastness first.
Butter is a grease. Get some BAM, by easy off at any store. Spray lightly, it will eat the grease, then wash.
Test on a small area first for color fastness.
Another great grease eater is DAWN dishwashing liquid. In fact, since its cheaper, and milder, try that first. It'll cost you about 2 bucks to find out whether you can save your shirt.
if you put it in the dryer it might be, get some shout in a spray can, and some oops, soak it in oops and then shout, wait 5 min then wash as you normally would, dont dry in the dryer, hang on a hanger and wait for it to dry, if the oily stain is still there you can see it, you can treat and wash again to see if it helps, i have done it 3 times in a row and gotten out cooking oil and such.
for washable fabrics, just a normal cycle with a good laundry detergent. For non-washable fabrics, sprinkle talcum powder onto the stain and leave for 24 hours to absorb the grease, followed by careful hand-washing. Any remaining stain can be tackled by a little dilute methylated spirit. Alternatively, you can use a grease solvent, such as a laundry pre-soak (spot stain remover) or dry cleaning fluid.
