How do I remove crayon out of the seats of my mothers car?
Question:My mothers grandchild marked on her car interior. How do I get it out? Thanks for any answers.
Answers:
Crayon on Upholstery
To get crayon marks off upholstery, first scrape excess crayon off with a dull-edge knife or metal spoon. Spray with WD-40 and let stand a few minutes. With a small, stiff bristle brush work crayon stain and wipe with paper towels. Respray with WD-40 and apply liquid dishwashing detergent on the sprayed area; work in with the brush and wipe stain away with a damp sponge. If stain remains, repeat the procedure. =)
cloth or leather?.i got this stuff called dissolve-it and it took crayon off easily. i think i got it at walmart.
I think anything with xylene in it will dissolve crayon. Be careful though, it may bleach fabrics and it's pretty volatile.
What type of fabric? Whether it's leather vinyl or fabric try putting some ice (zipped in a baggie) on the marks for a few minutes. The crayon will flake up and you should be able to gently scrape off most if not all of the crayon. If it still leave leaves a mark on vinyl or leather you can use regular alcohol to clean off the rest. On a fabric use something like resolve. But be prepared if it's fabric to clean the whole seat otherwise you end up with one really really clean spot that sticks out! I have my own little Picasso and go through that often! Hope this helps!

Time Required: 20 minutes
Here's How:
Follow these steps even if the stain is in the car the product should work on that interior!
Place the stained clothes on a white cloth or a few white paper towels.
Spray WD-40 or apply a product such as Goo Gone onto the stain. Let this stand for a few minutes.
Turn the clothing over and apply WD-40 or Goo Gone to the other side of the stain; again, let this stand for a few minutes.
Take some dishwashing detergent and work this into the stain on both sides.
Wash in hot water with a detergent containing color-safe bleach, such as Cheer with Bleach. Or use a regular detergent and add color-safe bleach.
Check the clothing before drying to ensure that the crayon stain is gone. If not, then repeat washing.
Tips:
WD-40 can be found in most grocery, hardware, and auto parts stores.
Goo Gone can usually be found in the laundry section of your grocery store.
It might take several washings for all of the stain to come out of the clothes.
